Once in a generation investment in South Ribble Leisure Centres
South Ribble Leisure Centres are undergoing a multimillion-pound improvements project, which will make the buildings more energy efficient and will give them long-needed modernisation and upgrades.
The first stage, which is now almost complete, has been the decarbonisation and infrastructure phase, which has involved huge improvements to the infrastructure that keeps the centres operational and energy efficient.
The next phase will be modernisation and improvements across all four sites. We'll be able to share the plans soon.

Leyland Leisure Centre
Improvements for energy efficiency:
- Installation of air source heat pump for energy efficient heating
- Upgrades to heating, hot water systems, power supply and ventilation
- Installation of solar panels
- Energy efficient LED lighting upgrades
Building improvements:
- Upgrades to roofing
- Fencing improvements
- Fire safety improvements and compliance measures
Bamber Bridge Leisure Centre
Energy efficient improvements:
- Upgrades to power supply, hot water and heating systems, including radiators
- Air source heat pump for energy efficient heating
- Solar panel installation
- Upgrades to LED energy efficient lighting
- Upgrades to internal ventilation
Building enhancements:
- New and upgraded plant rooms

Penwortham Leisure Centre
