Withy Grove Park to get additional car parking spaces

An additional 30 spaces will be created for users of the park and Bamber Bridge Leisure Centre and Sports Hub

Following the success of the new Bamber Bridge Sports Hub, the continued growth of the Bamber Bridge Leisure Centre and the continued popularity of the Green Flag Award winning park, it is necessary to expand our car parking provision to meet demand.

On listening to resident feedback about the parking provision and to reduce additional traffic and parking on nearby residential roads, the extension to the overflow car park will provide a further 30 spaces in the area.

What will the works involve

Today (10/8/23) we have started work to expand the overflow car park at Withy Grove Park, off Withy Grove Close from 20 spaces to 50. The car park is set to be closed for a period of three weeks where pedestrian and vehicle access will not be permitted. This is to ensure the safety of all through the duration of the works.

The main car park at the front of Bamber Bridge Leisure Centre from Brindle Road, is open as usual and unaffected by these works.

What to expect on site

Fencing has been erected around the area and contractor traffic will come to site via Brindle Road and then down Withy Trees Avenue onto Withy Grove Close.

Residents should expect contractor traffic during the operating hours of 8am - 5pm (weekdays). We aim to keep the disruption and noise to an absolute minimum.
